Besan Ladoo

📝 Ingredients:

  • 2 cups besan (gram flour)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (or as per taste)
  • ½ cup ghee (clarified butter)
  • 2–3 tbsp chopped dry fruits (cashews, almonds, pistachios)
  • ½ tsp cardamom powder (elaichi)
  • Saffron strands (optional, for flavor & color)

👩‍🍳 Method:

1. Roast the Besan

  1. Heat a heavy-bottom pan/kadhai.
  2. Add ghee and let it melt.
  3. Add besan and roast on low flame, stirring continuously.
  4. Roast until it turns golden brown and releases a nutty aroma (about 15–20 minutes).
    • ⚠️ Do not roast on high flame, otherwise besan will burn.

2. Add Flavor & Nuts

  1. Add cardamom powder and mix well.
  2. You can also add saffron strands and chopped dry fruits at this stage.

3. Mix Sugar

  1. Switch off the flame and let the mixture cool slightly (lukewarm, not hot).
  2. Add powdered sugar and mix well until combined.

4. Shape the Ladoo

  1. Grease your hands with little ghee.
  2. Take small portions of the mixture and roll into round balls (ladoo shape).
  3. Decorate with a dry fruit piece on top (optional).

5. Serve & Store

  • Let them cool completely.
  • Store in an airtight container – stays fresh for 2–3 weeks.

🌟 Tips:

  • If mixture is too dry → add a little warm ghee.
  • If mixture is too soft → keep aside for 5 minutes, it will firm up.
  • Always roast besan slowly for perfect taste.

✨ Now your soft, melt-in-mouth Besan Ladoo is ready 🪔🎉
